Synopsis:

"Scream 7" (2026) is a thriller film and a direct sequel to Scream VI, marking the seventh stage in the Scream franchise. Directed by Kevin Williamson, the creator of the original Scream characters, and co-written by Guy Busick, the film hits theaters on February 25, 2026.

Sidney Prescott, now living in the small town of Pine Grove, Indiana, tries to leave her past terrors behind. However, her peace is shattered when Ghostface reappears, targeting her daughter, Tatum, as next victim. Sidney must face her old trauma and stand against Ghostface to protect her family. The film promises the classic Scream vibe with more intense Ghostface terror. The combination of old and new faces in the cast adds to the excitement.

This film stars: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Mason Gooding and more.

In my opinion:

Finally, the film I've been waiting for is out. Maybe this is the last saga of Scream, because it could get boring if continued haha. The Scream plot is pretty standard, you know. Personally, what drew me in was the brutality of the killings. And sure enough, the murders in this film are quite brutal. It's a pity Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega aren't part of this film. I heard Melissa was dropped due to her support for Palestine, and Jenna showed solidarity with Melissa and quit. I also heard it took a lot of extra funding to rewrite the story for Scream 7.

Okay, the start of Scream is nothing new. There's the first victim who starts the Ghostface terror. It's a bit different this time, as the victim fights back against Ghostface. Yep, not just screaming and hiding, there's resistance, and it's a female (because the male just easily killed). As usual, the audience is given clues that seem to make it easy to guess the killer, but of course, they're all wrong because plot twists are this film's trademark.

So, it's no surprise I give Scream 7 an average score. Not bad but not great either, honestly, I'm interested because... well, you know... Scream, what horror fan doesn't know Scream haha.. The visuals, audio, and cinematography are good, plus the iconic 2000s actors like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and Matthew Lillard are a given. The collaboration with the new, young actors is also great. Well, folks, this might be the final saga of Scream (maybe), and if so, it's a shame it didn't leave much of an impression.

For me this one is 7/10.
