Panda Plan 2: The Magical Tribe (2026) Review: Jackie Chan Protects A Panda And Accidentally Joins A Magic Tribe

source: tv.lk21

Synopsis:

Panda Plan 2: The Magical Tribe (2026), which is the sequel to Panda Plan (2024), is still starred by Jackie Chan playing a fictional version of himself. The story begins when Jackie and a cute baby panda named Hu Hu are on their way to a panda conservation center. On the way, they are hit by a “sky anomaly” and stray into a mysterious valley that immediately closes off after they enter. There, they meet a primitive tribe isolated from the outside world. Because Hu Hu’s appearance — with large dark circles around his eyes — matches the tribe’s ancestral totem perfectly, he is regarded as a “sacred creature” sent from the heavens. The problem is, according to a prophecy on the tribe’s ancient stone slab, Hu Hu must be escorted to Awe Peak — a mountain that is nearly impossible to climb — by the “Messenger”. If they fail, disaster will befall the tribe. Jackie, whether he likes it or not, is considered that Messenger. To protect Hu Hu, Jackie has to deal with the eccentric tribe members, warrior Qiang Shan who often has amnesia, and Prince Tu Lu who is still unstable. Jackie gets caught up in an ancient conflict that will determine the fate of the tribe.

Jackie Chan remains the main attraction. Even though he’s already elderly, the slapstick action + interactions with the CGI panda Hu Hu still deliver funny moments. Critics said the first film Panda Plan (2024) had already become “the lowest point of Jackie Chan’s career”. However, this sequel is said to be “better than the first” and managed to achieve decent success in China with earnings of US$37.3 million. But this film is still only said to be average.

This film stars: Jackie Chen, Ma Li, Qiao Shan, Wang Yinglu and more.

Within the Pines (2024) Review: They Went Into The Forest For Peace, The Trees Had Other Plans

source: tv.lk21
Synopsis:

Within the Pines (2024) is director Paul Evans Thomas’ feature debut film, adapted from his short film, Foley Man. The story follows Sam, a foley artist — someone who creates sound effects for films. He goes to a remote cabin in the middle of a pine forest for work, but starts getting disturbed by strange sounds he hears and records. Over time, the line between the sounds he creates for his job and the mysterious sounds from the forest becomes blurred. This film has minimal dialogue. The focus is on sound design and atmosphere. We’re taken along with Sam as he slowly becomes paranoid: is someone watching him among the trees, or is it all just in his head? This is a slow-burn horror/psychological film that relies more on sound than on jump scares.

This film stars: Brendan Cooney, Barrie Cotton, Cheryl Douglas and more.

In my opinion:

Okay, from the synopsis I got from one source on the internet, this film will be assumed to be a psychological horror film. You know, I was actually in a good mood to watch a thriller or horror film — I wanted to get my adrenaline pumping. I chose this film and... hahaha. Marking 20 years of Umbrella Entertainment, this company instead delivered a film that’s too simple and... sorry... boring. I won’t hesitate — I’ll just spoil it entirely. It tells the story of Sam Evans. I don’t know what his profession is, but it seems like he’s part of a multimedia crew. From the start, the story is built very slowly, and even Sam’s profile feels very vague. What I can guess is that he’s in the process of divorcing his wife, Sarah.

Project Hail Mary (2026) Review: One Man. One Ship. And The Fate Of Two Species Hanging By A Thread

source: tv.lk21

Synopsis:

Project Hail Mary (2026) is a sci-fi film directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, adapted from the hard sci-fi novel by Andy Weir, the author of The Martian. Ryland Grace awakens from a coma aboard the spaceship Hail Mary, 12 light-years from Earth, with no memory of who he is or why he’s there. The two other crew members are already dead. Slowly, his memories return and start to remember that Earth is dying because of a microorganism called “Astrophage” that is consuming the Sun, causing global temperatures to drop by 10–15 degrees and threatening billions of lives.

Grace is a former molecular biologist who became a science teacher, forcibly recruited by international coordinator, Eva Stratt, for a suicide mission to the star named Tau Ceti — the only star that hasn’t dimmed despite being infected by Astrophage. The goal: find out why Tau Ceti survived and send the data back to Earth.

This film stars: Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller, James Ortiz, Ken Leung and more.

In my opinion:

I was hesitant to watch this film at first, because there was a chance I’d be confused watching a movie about space. There are some astronomy terms and substances here, but luckily I could follow it well enough. The story isn’t complicated — it’s a mission to save the world from a “thing” called Astrophage, which can devour the sun. The bottom line is that the apocalypse will happen if it isn’t stopped. Remember the film Armageddon? That’s what I thought from the moment I started watching this. Then what happened? Turns out this film is unlike any other.

A Super Progressive Movie (2026) Review: They Tried To Make The Most Woke Film Ever And It Went Off The Rails

source: tv.lk21
Synopsis:

A Super Progressive Movie (2026) is a satirical animated film released on 26 January 2026 to coincide with Australia Day. It is an Australian political satire animated film directed by Sebastian Peart, written by Mark Nicholson & Sebastian Peart, and produced by James Ashby through Stepmates Studios. It is a feature-length version of the series “Pauline Hanson's Please Explain.” The story is set in a progressive dystopia called Naarm — a bubble-domed city held together by the rainbow “The Virtue Signal” and ruled by King Albo. In this city, identity is more important than achievement.

The main character is Pete, a “cisgender straight white male” who is sentenced to death by a “Feelings-Based Court” not because he is dangerous, but because his existence is considered wrong. He is paraded, punished, and nearly executed simply because he is a “convenient” target. Another plot describes the film as following four progressive Australians in a world where Pauline Hanson is prime minister, who set out to reclaim a powerful weapon called “the Victimhood.” The film opens with the line: “This is a true story, if you don’t believe it, you are racist.” Many critics say the film loses its satirical discipline. The jokes are repeated until it feels like a “long argument with cartoons” rather than comedy. The tone becomes narrow and too preachy.

This movie voice cast: Mark Nicholson, Sebastian Peart and Pauline Hanson.

Ready or Not 2 : Here I Come (2026) Review: She Survived The Game Once, Now The Family Wants Revenge

Synopsis:

Ready or Not 2 : Here I Come (2026) is a sequel to the 2019 horror-comedy film Ready or Not, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and with a runtime of 1 hour 48 minutes. Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace enters the next level of the nightmarish game. This time she is not alone - her estranged sister, Faith, joins her. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and a chance to claim the "High Seat of the Council" that controls the world. The problem is, 4 rival Le Domas families have joined forces to hunt her down in order to fight for that throne. The result is carnage.

If you liked the first Ready or Not for its horror-comedy blend, creative gore, and badass character, this sequel gives you more with a touch of sisterhood. Bigger, bloodier, and more absurd. This film is perfect to watch with a group if you want to laugh while wincing at the slaughter.

This film stars: Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand and more.

In my opinion:

I might be disappointed if the lead in this film wasn’t Samara Weaving. I feel she is a perfect fit for portraying this character. This film is a continuation of the first one, as if not given a moment to breathe, Grace has to fight the satanic cult again. This time with her sister, Faith, Grace has to play bloody hide-and-seek once more and survive until dawn.

Love on the Amazon (2026) Review: He Chased Love Down The River, But The Jungle Had Its Own Rules

source: tvinsider.com
Synopsis:

"Love on the Amazon" (2026) is a romantic drama set in the Amazon, Brazil and directed by Colin Theys. The story follows Claire, who travels to Brazil to deliver an important message to her sister, Amelia, a marine biologist studying pink dolphins in the Amazon River. Claire hires Danny, a river captain, to help her with her mission. The film has an authentic adventure and romance vibe. The Amazon location makes the film come alive, with breathtaking natural beauty and a tense atmosphere. The chemistry between Claire and Danny is great, making their relationship feel natural and attractive.

Some parts of the film feel slow, especially at the beginning. The film doesn't have much innovation in the romance genre, but it makes up for it with its unique location. The film has a 4/5 rating from critics and is one of the most authentic and attractive Hallmark films in recent years.

This film stars: Jaicy Elliot, Rafael de la Fuente, Raissa Xavier, Persephone Barda-Redman and more.

In my opinion:

It's a very simple romantic drama story (which is fine, actually). Although the story isn't too complicated, what caught my attention was the Amazon visuals themselves, so beautiful. The film reminds me of "Lost in Paradise," a romantic drama film set in nature. The difference is that this film doesn't have a survival element, just a beautiful journey exploring the wild Amazon.

Crime 101 (2026) Review: He Planned The Perfect Heist Until The Detective Wrote The Syllabus

source: bleedingcool.com
Synopsis:

“Crime 101” (2026) is a captivating heist thriller with a touch of psychological drama and directed by Bart Layton. The story follows Mike Davis, a professional jewel thief with a strict code of ethics, who always carries out his operations along the 101 highway. He's known for his nearly flawless reputation and avoidance of violence. However, when Mike plans his final big heist, he clashes with Sharon Combs, an insurance broker experiencing a life crisis.

Meanwhile, Detective Lou Lubesnick is convinced that all these actions are the work of a genius and starts pursuing Mike relentlessly. The film has a strong atmosphere and maintains a tense mood from start to finish. The gloomy visuals of Los Angeles add emotional weight to the story. The chase scenes and clever deductions at the end are also very engaging.

The tense atmosphere is stable throughout, and the film explores the moral dilemmas and psychological aspects of its characters. The realistic heist scenes, with detailed planning and execution, are handled quite technically. The drawback is the slow-paced storyline. Some parts of the film are too focused on dialogue and character development, and it lacks new elements. Crime 101 scores 87% from critics and 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

This film stars: Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan and more.

In my opinion:

If you're expecting an action-packed crime film like The Rip, you won't find it here. This is essentially a story about a criminal genius by Bart Layton, adapted from Don Winslow's 2020 novel of the same name. With an incredible cast, the film is presented exceptionally well.

Caught by Love (2026) Review: He Was Undercover To Expose An Illegal Deal Then A Foreign Woman Got Pulled In... And His Heart

source: tvinsider.com
Synopsis:

"Caught by Love" (2026) is directed by Kevin Fair. A romance that tells the story of Annie, a resort guest who is searching for her identity, but gets caught up in a jewelry theft investigation conducted by an undercover detective, Jake. The two of them then get involved in an unexpected romantic adventure.

This film stars Rachael Leigh Cook as Annie and Luke Macfarlane as Jake, with a beautiful backdrop of Malta. "Caught by Love" is a film suitable for those who like romance and mystery, with stunning visuals and strong chemistry between the main actors. The film premiered on January 24, 2026, on Hallmark Channel and is available on Hallmark+.

This film stars: Rachael Leigh CookLuke Macfarlane, Amanda Vilanova, Fernando Corral, Rupert Hill and more.

In my opinion:

This time the romance drama I watched was quite unique, because it was combined with detective elements. Yes, although it's not new, we're bound to get bored with the same old romance drama stories. Although it was predictable how the story would end, the mystery element of the illegal diamond transaction was quite entertaining for me. Analyzing each guest's background and guessing who the real buyer was, was a different spice in the romantic drama. I liked the film's setting, which used a 5-star hotel in Malta, where we can see the hospitality and knowledge of a receptionist.

Disneyland Handcrafted (2026) Review: Behind The Magic Is A World Built By Hand... And Heart

source: moviedb.org
Synopsis:

"Disneyland Handcrafted" (2026) is a documentary that recounts the construction process of Disneyland in Anaheim, California, in 1955. Directed by Leslie Iwerks, the film utilizes rare archival footage and original audio from the Walt Disney Archives to reveal the story behind Walt Disney's dream of creating "The Happiest Place on Earth".

The documentary showcases the challenging and labor-intensive process of building Disneyland, from installing the Sleeping Beauty Castle tower to constructing the Mark Twain ship. The documentary  also features interviews with workers involved in the project, providing insight into their dedication and spirit. "Disneyland Handcrafted" is a must-watch for Disney enthusiasts and those interested in learning more about Disneyland's history. The documentary has been available on Disney+ and YouTube since January 22, 2026.

In my opinion:

Can you imagine if imaginative people like Walt Disney didn't exist? I'm sure the world would be dull without Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald & Daisy Duck, Goofy, Uncle Scrooge, etc. Or imagine if Stan Lee gave up on his dreams – we wouldn't have Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, Hulk, etc. They are gifts to this world, and their contributions shouldn't just be remembered but preserved and continued.

GOAT (2026) Review: He Was Called The Greatest Of All Time, But Legacy Comes With A Price

source: goat.movie
Synopsis:

"GOAT" (2026) is a sports animation produced by Sony Pictures Animation, directed by Tyree Dillihay, and produced by Stephen Curry. The story follows Will Harris, a small goat who dreams of becoming a professional roarball player, a basketball-like sport dominated by larger animals. Will has an incredible long-range shooting ability and an unyielding spirit. He joins the Vineland Thorns team and strives to prove that big dreams are not determined by physical size.

The film features dynamic visuals, fresh humor, and an inspiring message about courage, inclusivity, and diversity. "GOAT" also highlights the journey of an athlete trying to prove himself in a system not designed for him.

This film stars: Caleb McLaughlin, Gabriel Union, Stephen Curry, Aaron Pierre, David Harbour and more.

In my opinion:

I saw the credits, and Stephen Curry is involved in the production. No wonder Will is great at shooting, and Stephen also voices Lenny. I've said it before – animation is unlimited imagination, impossible, and magical. It reminds me of Space Jam, which combined basketball with animation.
