Love on the Amazon

source: tvinsider.com
Synopsis:

"Love on the Amazon" (2026) is a romantic drama set in the Amazon, Brazil. The story follows Claire, who travels to Brazil to deliver an important message to her sister, Amelia, a marine biologist studying pink dolphins in the Amazon River. Claire hires Danny, a river captain, to help her with her mission. The film has an authentic adventure and romance vibe. The Amazon location makes the film come alive, with breathtaking natural beauty and a tense atmosphere. The chemistry between Claire and Danny is great, making their relationship feel natural and attractive.

Some parts of the film feel slow, especially at the beginning. The film doesn't have much innovation in the romance genre, but it makes up for it with its unique location. The film has a 4/5 rating from critics and is one of the most authentic and attractive Hallmark films in recent years.

This film stars: Jaicy Elliot, Rafael de la Fuente, Raissa Xavier, Persephone Barda-Redman and more.

In my opinion:

It's a very simple romantic drama story (which is fine, actually). Although the story isn't too complicated, what caught my attention was the Amazon visuals themselves, so beautiful. The film reminds me of "Lost in Paradise," a romantic drama film set in nature. The difference is that this film doesn't have a survival element, just a beautiful journey exploring the wild Amazon.

Unlike typical romantic dramas where the female lead is model-like and the male lead falls for her, this film features a plus-size woman, which is rare for me (I know there are many, but I rarely see them). I also love the chemistry between the two main characters: the male lead is an adventurous captain who didn't finish college, while the female lead has a good education background and is a vice-principal candidate.

Again, the story is simple, but the visuals, audio, and cinematography make it enjoyable to watch. A great weekend movie to watch with your partner. Pellicuna Bona!

For me this one is 7/10.
