The film is described as Gen Z
satirical humor that is extreme in calling out issues of racism, homophobia,
and sexism. The character of Terri Joe was intentionally created as a parody of
a passive-aggressive conservative Christian woman. So the goal is not to
support that viewpoint, but to parody it.
This film stars: Kelon Campbell, Katie Keene, Chase Garland, Dylan Bougis and more.
In my opinion:
My days have been quite
exhausting and I decided to watch a comedy film, and this was the one I chose.
Damn, I was hoping to laugh out loud like I did watching Tyler Perry’s Joe’sCollege Trip (since the poster looked similar), but it turned out not to be
what I expected. The comedy felt half-baked, even though there was great
potential for it to become a great comedy film because the core of the story is
simple—just a nerdy and awkward girl trying to get to church. But
unfortunately, the story felt all over the place and haphazard. Even though I
understood the plot, the jokes only managed to give me a small smile.
Even though visually, the audio
and cinematography are good, and even the acting of the cast feels natural.
Unfortunately, the weak story makes the film feel bland, and interestingly,
this film got a user score of 80/100 on TMDb from 4 reviews. For your
information, this film has a sequel haha. Well, I hope the sequel will be
better, and I think this film is fine being shown on home television only, not
in theaters.
