Synopsis:
"Best Served Cold"
(2026) is a 1 hour 38-minute thriller film directed by Richard Somes, available
on streaming platforms like Prime Video.
The story follows two friends,
Gwen and Moira, who join a tour to a remote resort run by a mysterious couple.
When one of the group goes missing, they must fight to survive and uncover the
truth behind the resort.
This film stars: Elisse Joson, Alexa Miro, Derrick Dover, Macoy Averilla, Monika Koudroglou Truong and more.
In my opinion:
Wow, the film isn't bad. I'm sure the budget wasn't huge, but like I said, it's not bad. I thought I'd be disappointed like with "He Killed My Sister" that I posted about earlier.
The visuals and audio are fairly good, the acting is natural, and the simple story is decent (though quite common). It's about two friends vacationing in Chile, meeting fellow Filipinos and a local guide, and ending up at a villa owned by Dionis and Corazon.
I'll get straight to it, the couple are psychopaths and cannibals. Their evil intentions are revealed too quickly, which kind of spoils the surprise, right?
This is a Filipino film set in
Chile and I assume it's inspired by "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Ups..
No worries, it's okay to make a similar film. They could've even titled it
"Filipina Chainsaw Massacre" or "Chile Chainsaw Massacre"
(but sadly, there's no chainsaw this time).
I think this film is great to accompany your weekend. If you're stressed from work, it's a good stress-reliever. Alexa Miro screams really loudly in this haha. Turns out there's a novel with the same title, "Best Served Cold" by Joe Abercrombie. I'm not sure if it's the same story.
For me this one is 7.5/10.
