"The Investigation of Lucy Letby" (2026) is a documentary that tells the story of Lucy Letby, a neonatal nurse convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others at the Countess of Chester Hospital, England, between 2015-2016.
Letby was a highly skilled nurse
with a good reputation at the hospital. However, in 2015, a series of
mysterious baby deaths occurred in the neonatal unit, and Letby became the
primary suspect.
The documentary features
interviews with the victims' families, police officers, and medical experts
involved in the case. It also includes original footage of Letby's
interrogation.
Critics describe this documentary as "a very shocking documentation". You can watch this documentary on Netflix.
In my opinion:
Wow, this is one of the best criminal documentaries I've seen. The case shocked the UK and, for me, was an unsolved mystery. I had never heard of this case before, so the documentary really guided me through it. The chronological sequence is very well-organized, and the inclusion of original videos makes it easy to follow, even for a layperson.
Although Letby was found guilty, some people question the evidence used to convict her. There is even a possibility that this case was negligence on the part of the Countess of Chester Hospital. But backed by evidence in the form of her diary entries, Letby now currently is serving a life sentence at HMP Bronzefield, England. There is no specific reviews, but I can say it's outstanding.
For me this one is 8/10.
