"Relationship Goals"
(2026) is a romantic comedy film directed by Linda Mendoza and released on
Amazon Prime Video on February 4, 2026.
The story follows Leah Caldwell,
a brilliant TV producer on the verge of becoming the first woman to lead a top
morning show in New York. However, her life gets complicated when her
ex-boyfriend, Jarrett Roy, returns and competes for the same position.
Jarrett claims to have changed and
become a better person after reading Michael Todd's book "Relationship
Goals". Leah, focused on her career, doesn't believe in Jarrett's
transformation and tries to ignore her lingering feelings. As time passes, Leah
starts questioning her priorities and whether love can coexist with her
ambition.
This film stars: Kelly Rowland, Cliff "Method Man" Smith, Robin Thede, Annie Gonzales and more.
In my opinion:
It seems I've gotten quite a few romantic comedies this year. And it appears that the standard for romantic comedies hasn't deviated much from the usual formula. Although the cast delivers a great performance, the film feels overly simplistic, with a storyline that's too predictable, like many other romantic comedies out there. So, I didn't find anything particularly surprising.
Nevertheless, the film has its redeeming qualities. The visuals and audio are well-done, the cinematography is good, and Kelly Rowland and Cliff "Method Man" Smith have great chemistry. The film conveys a valuable message: love isn't just something to be felt or fought for; it needs to have a purpose. And let's not forget, love is a blessing from God – always involve Him and be grateful for the life you have.
For me this one is 6.5/10.
