Synopsis:

Grizzly Night (2026) is a thriller film directed by Burke Doeren, based on the true story known as "Night of the Grizzlies". The film depicts a deadly grizzly bear attack on campers in Glacier National Park. Joan Devereaux, a young ranger, must lead the initial rescue efforts and face potential further attacks from the bear.

The story focuses on Joan's struggle to save trapped individuals in the forest, confronting the dangers of grizzly bears and the wilderness. The film explores themes of nature's power, human vulnerability, and environmental awareness.

Reviews are generally positive, praising the realistic acting and cinematography. However, some critics find the plot underdeveloped and the ending rushed. Overall, Grizzly Night is a gripping thriller with strong performances and realistic visuals.

This film stars: Lauren Call, Oded Fehr, Charles Esten, Brec Bassinger, Ali Skovbye and more.

In my opinion:

The film is based on the August 12, 1967 incident in Glacier National Park, Montana, where two 19-year-old women were fatally attacked by grizzlies.

There's a dialogue saying, "The natural enemy of grizzly bears is dogs." After researching, this isn't 100% accurate. Grizzly bears will attack and eat dogs if given the chance. Like snakes, bears don't attack humans unless provoked, startled, or their habitat is disturbed. So, the likelihood of grizzly bears attacking or eating humans is low. The film also notes that the trigger for these two grizzly bears' attack on humans remains unknown.

Back to the film. I praise the visuals, audio, and cinematography. Some standout aspects include the realistic grizzly-inflicted wounds, particularly one victim's lung damage with air bubbles mixed with blood bursting tragically. I also commend the actors' performances, especially the poignant scene where Pastor Connolly comforts a dying victim - it's intensely human. I've seen many sad scenes in films, but this one feels remarkably authentic.

The film reminds us not to underestimate wildlife. Don't rely solely on theory; reality can twist unexpectedly. Go with experienced guides and follow rules. Overall, Grizzly Night is a gripping thriller with strong acting and realistic cinematography. A good film!

For me this one is 8/10.
