"Miracle: The Boys of
'80" is a 1 hour 40 minute documentary that tells the story of the US icehockey team that won the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, New York, by defeating
the heavily favored Soviet Union team. The documentary uses previously unseen
16mm footage and interviews with surviving players, providing insight into how
they became heroes in the eyes of the American public.
The documentary focuses not only
on the team's victory but also on their journey, including the challenges they
faced and the impact of their win on American society. The players recount
their experiences, including the pressure they felt and how they overcame
difficulties.
Reviews of the documentary are generally positive, with many critics praising the film's inspirational and emotional storytelling. Some critics note that the documentary is not just about hockey, but also about teamwork, dedication, and spirit. However, some critics feel that the film is too focused on the team's victory and lacks exploration of other aspects of the story
In my opinion:
It's always enjoyable to see a
country's historical story, especially one that involves national pride. The US
got that from their hockey team. I find this documentary very exclusive because
it includes original 16mm footage, making it an unquestionable true story.
It's very touching and inspiring. I heard testimonies from the surviving players. Hockey wasn't a popular sport back then, but it upheld American pride by defeating the Soviet Union's great team. This is also a tribute to Herb Brooks, the legendary hockey coach who made the US team achieve their dream
A very beautiful documentation.
For me this one is 8/10.
